Cheryl Harris Phillips, 59, passed away surrounded by her family and friends on Sunday, July 13, 2014 at the Hospice Care Center in Fairlawn, Ohio.
Cheryl was born on July 12, 1955 in Rockingham to Bobby and Betty Harris. She married Al Phillips in 1974 and together raised their son Kevin. Though they moved often for Al's career, Cheryl was a valuable member of each community in which she settled.
Cheryl worked as a registered nurse and was most recently a member of the Gadsden First United Methodist Church in Gadsden, Alabama. She enjoyed scrapbooking, participating in book clubs, volunteering her time as a nurse and most of all, spoiling her three grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Harris; and sister, Lynn Perkins.
Cheryl is survived by her mother, Betty; Al, her husband of nearly 40 years; son, Kevin and daughter-in-law Dana; and grandchildren, Reagan, Lauren and Spencer.
The family thanks the Hospice Care Center for their devoted care during Cheryl's final days.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at Community Church, 193 Mill Road, Rockingham.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice Care Center, Development Fund, 3358 Ridgewood Road, Akron, OH 44333 or www.vnsa.com/hospice.
