Cheryl E. Spartz, 63 of Sycamore died Saturday, October 29, 2019 at her home.
She was born November 20, 1956 in Peoria. The daughter of Johnson Theryl and Norma Gayle (Reynolds) Hackler. She married Jacob J. "Jack" Spartz, Jr. on May 30, 1993 in Sycamore.
Cheryl was a graduate of the Washington Community High School. She worked at Opportunity House in Sycamore as a job coach and as a pharmacy technician at Osco in DeKalb. Cheryl was an avid gardener, Chicago Bears and Cubs fan, supporter of the Sycamore Fire Department and was a member of the Sycamore Sports Boosters and a volunteer with the food pantry at the Newman Catholic Center in DeKalb.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Spartz, Jr.; five sons, Andy (Ann) , Jason, Grant, Zach and Jacob, III; two daughters, Jaclyn and Jessica; her mother, Norma Hackler; four grandchildren, Sophia Thomas, Marvin Spartz, Liam Foster and Brandon Spartz; one brother, Jay Hackler and two sisters, Cindy Wynn and Kelli Grabbert.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Her Funeral Mass will be on Monday, Nov. 4 at 10:30 AM at the Church of St. Mary, 244 Waterman in Sycamore, with Monsignor Steve Knox officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Sycamore.
Visitation will be on Sunday from 5:00-8:00 PM at the Butala Funeral Home and Crematory in Sycamore.
