Christian Lee SandbeckChristian Lee Sandbeck passed away at 5:17 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2016 at North Vista Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was 47 years old.Chris was born on December 28,1968 in Sioux City, Iowa. He moved with his family to Puyallup, Washington in 1973, where he lived until after he graduated from Rogers High School in 1988. He attended the Seattle Art Institute, graduating top of his class in 1992 from the Industrial Design Program. Chris first worked for the Heath Sign and Design Company in Kirkland and then spent the majority of his career at IIium Design in Bellevue. At IIium, Chris did exemplary work for several metropolitan areas across the country and here in the Northwest, including signage design at several airports. He was proud of the work he did, and shared that with friends and family always.In August 2013, Chris moved to Las Vegas.Chris did many things throughout his life -- raced motorcycles, skied and restored a beautiful old Volkswagen van among them -- but he was always an artist and a lover of art in all its forms. If you knew nothing else about Chris, you knew that.He was preceded in death by his brother, James J. Sandbeck, who passed away in 1989; his paternal grandparents, Ruth and Oscar Sandbeck; and his step-grandfather, Russell Harper.He is survived by his mother and stepfather, Bonnie and Russ Harper of Pasco, Washington; his father and his wife, Randall and Grace Sandbeck of Sequim, Washington; his maternal grandparents Harold and Mary Burcham of Sioux City, Iowa; his step-grandmother, Betty Harper of Puyallup, Washington; his aunt April Lesseur of Las Vegas; his aunt Leeann Neilsen of Akron, Iowa; his aunt Sandy Taylor of Skamokawa, Washington; his aunt Milly Baker of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota; Stacey Harper of Puyallup, Washington; his stepbrother, Daniel DeMay of Seattle, as well as several other aunts, uncles and cousins.Chris was a dear, kind and loving soul and there is a bright new star in the heavens.
