Christie Renee Smith, 47, peacefully gained her wings with family and friends surrounding her at her home on December 06, 2022, after a courageous one-year battle with metastatic breast cancer. She was born on December 31, 1974, in Covington, Kentucky, to Vic Smith and Shirley Eldridge Booth. Christie graduated from Simon Kenton High School in 1992. She previously worked as a gate agent for American Airlines in Lexington and Hebron, Kentucky. Christie had a witty personality and was loved by many. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, especially her children and grandchildren, who were her "everything." Christie loved to travel, especially to Hawaii, which she called her "Happy Place." She enjoyed playing bingo and euchre, motorcycle riding with the love of her life, Jason, and celebrating Christmas."

Christie left behind her life partner, Jason Lanham; five children, Erica George, Mallory & Blake McClure, and Bryce & Ashton Lanham; two grandchildren, Kyra Webster and Kaden Lanham; parents, Vic (Jeanie) Smith, Shirley Eldridge Booth, Danny (Carol) Booth; sisters, Danna Booth & Candy Brown; brothers, Rusty, Don, & Pat Smith, and Mike & Doug Murphy; and many uncles, aunts, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her grandparents; Edward (Jeanette) Smith, Carl (Merica) Eldridge, Marion (Rose) Booth, and Paul (Evelyn) Stephens.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, December 13, 2022, from 5:00 pm to 9:30 pm at Park Place Community Center, 5606 Taylor Mill Road, Taylor Mill, KY 41015. Family and friends will share stories at 7:00 pm. Feel free to bring a covered dish for a potluck dinner. Drinks will be available. The family has started a GoFundMe page in place of flowers to cover expenses.
