FAIRBORN — Christine Simpson age 73 of Fairborn passed from this life on Sunday, March 15, 2015 while surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born on February 4, 1942 in Hazard, Kentucky to Noah & Odessa (Mullins) Cockrell. Christine is preceded in death by her parents; husband Edward Simpson; 3 sisters Anna Mae Proffitt, Ruth Combs, Norma Jean Sexton; nieces, nephews, and other family members. Christine is survived by her daughter Kim (Sam) Johnson of Riverside; 2 sons Steve Cockrell, and Scott Simpson of Fairborn; grandchildren Cory Kirk, Shelby Kirk, Emma Cockrell, Dustin Simpson, Randell Simpson, and Waylon Simpson; 2 great grandchildren Layla, and Mallory; nieces Linda Donaghy, Carolyn Cockrell, Anna Saul; nephew Bill Frazier; and numerous other family members. Christine was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend. She will be missed by all of those who love and know her. She was known by many as "Mamaw" and "Crid".
