JACKSONVILLE, FL Christopher D. Miller, 56, passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2014. Chris was born on August 2, 1958, and was the son of Robert B. Miller and the late Gloria P. Miller. A 1976 graduate of Eastern High School, Chris enlisted in the Navy the same year and after 20 years of active duty retired in 1996 in Jacksonville, Fla. During his career, Chris had a positive influence on the soldiers he instructed in parachuting and ejection seat operation and testing. He often spoke of how fortunate he was to have traveled to many beautiful parts of the world during his career. Chris had a kind heart, a great sense of humor, and an appreciation of the simple things in life. He enjoyed music (especially the Beatles), fishing, playing his guitar, and just spending time with family and friends and helping others. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him. Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Gloria Miller, and his girlfriend, Karin Cooper. He is survived by daughters, Rhianna and Michelle Miller; father, Robert Miller; sister, Debbie Davis; nephews, Jeff and Chad Billet and their families; many cousins; and close friends. After cremation, family and friends will have a private celebration of Chris's life. Charitable donations may be made in Chris' name to the Gold Star Memorial Garden in York, P.O.
