GROSS, CLAIRE “VERN” VERNIE Age 81, of Rosebush passed away Friday, October 28, 2016, at his home. Funeral Services for Vern will be held at Clark Family Funeral Chapel on Thursday, November 3, at 3 p.m. with Pastor Jim Young officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. A Luncheon will be held in the Reflections Reception Center following the Committal Service. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 2, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will continue the day of the service from 2 p.m. until the time of the service.Vern was born on December 14, 1934, in Weidman, the son of the late Delbert and Laura Gross. Vern proudly served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during the Korean War. He married Violet Cotter on July 6, 1957. Vern was an avid baseball fan, enjoyed playing golf, and a garage sale connoisseur, mustard eating, traveling fool. Vern is survived by his wife of 59 years, Violet; children, Greg (Dede) Gross, Jeff (Cindy) Gross, David Gross, and Lori (Lloyd) Marzett; grandson, Lucas (Jennifer) Gross; and sister, Mary Loomis.Vern was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Irene Nelson, Ada Schroeder, Josiphine Peeper, Betty Gross; and brothers, Raymond, Clifford, Robert, Albert, and Ray Gross.
