WOOD, Clancie B. Mrs. Clancie B. Wood, age 94, lifetime resident of McDonough, GA., passed away on Tuesday, November 22, 2016. She was born on March 16, 1922, the youngest child of the late Jonce W. Brannan and the late Ida Glass Brannan. Clancie graduated from McDonough High School and Draughon School of Commerce in Atlanta, GA. She worked briefly with Southern Airways before starting her 30-year career with the City of Atlanta where she worked in the finance department, was secretary to Mayor William B. Hartsfield and retired while working for the Aviation Department. Clancie was a faithful member of the Forest Primitive Baptist Church in Forest Park, as well as an ardent supporter of Pastor Michael Pickett, and wife, Ann, who ministered to her weekly from Old Path Strict Baptist Church in Choteau, Montana. She was an avid reader and loved the Bible and numerous religious publications, medical books and periodicals, and cook books. Clancie was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 44 years W. B. (Woody) Wood, sisters, Edna B. Johnson and Ruth B. Phillips, brother, Frank Leva (Pike) Brannan and nephews, Phillip Johnson and Jerry Phillips. She is survived by nieces, Brenda (Henry) Taylor, of McDonough, Eugenia (Genie) (Walter) Bogart, of Clarksville, and Sandra (Sandy) G. Phillips, of Atlanta and a number of great, and great-great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and close friends. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at the Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Pastor Michael Pickett officiating. Interment will follow at Flippen Methodist Church Cemetery, on Jodeco Road, Flippen, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Refreshments to follow at the Flippen United Methodist Dining Hall after the burial.
