Petska, Clara C.Clara C. Petska, age 89, of Manitowoc, died Friday, October 9, 2015 at Shady Lane Nursing Care Center of Manitowoc.Clara was born on May 7, 1926 in the Town of Franklin, daughter of the late Wencil M. and Theresa B. (Spurney) Sauer. On June 1, 1949 she married Harvey J. Petska at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Kellnersville. He preceded her in death on June 26, 2014. She was employed at Margenau Drug Store and Park Lawn Home until her retirement in January of 1989. Clara was a past member of St. Paul's Catholic Church and current member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish. She enjoyed sewing, crafts and puzzles.She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law: Barbara (Harvey) Day, Manitowoc; one son and daughter-in-law: Paul A. (Susan) Petska, Chicago; three grandchildren: Kevin Day, Green Bay; Samuel (McKenzie) Petska, Bellingham, WA; Laura Petska, Sedro-Wooley, WA; one sister: Ann Sauer, Manitowoc; one brother and sister-in-law: Jim (Adeline) Sauer, Manitowoc; two sisters-in-law: Betty Petska, Manitowoc; Judy Petska, Two Rivers, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents: Wencil and Theresa Sauer; her husband: Harvey Petska; four sisters and brothers-in-law: Lillian (Adolph) Mazna; Agnes (Emil) Decker; Mayme (Joe) Decker; Catherine (Joe) Shusta; one brother and sister-in-law: Raymond (Agnes) Sauer; three brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law include: Helen (Ray) Naidl; Victor Petska; Joe Petska; Beatrice Petska.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 15, 2015 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand, 1416 Grand Avenue. Rev Dave Pleier will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial. Entombment will follow at the Calvary Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, 818 State Street, Manitowoc and again on Thursday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 10:00 a.m. Jerry Schermetzler will pray the rosary at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday to end the visitation.
