Clara L. Adams (Mudd), 88, passed away on Aug. 16, 2008. She was the youngest of sixteen children from the blended family of Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Mudd and was born on Sept. 14, 1919. She went to school in the Old Denmark District and received her schooling from the Kittitas School District. She worked in numerous restaurants in Ellensburg as well as the Safeway store. She and her family moved to the lower valley where her husband Wayne worked for the U & I Sugar Factory in Toppenish as well as working for Del Monte. Clara worked at Food Bi's and Franklin's Market in Zillah. She is survived by her son Frank Phelps (Barb) of Newport; her daughter Louise Adams of Yakima; her grandchildren David Phelps (Lora) and their children Zachery and Nathan, Dari Bangs (Glen) and their children Lindsey and Logan, and Shawn Phelps (Jodi) and their children Derrick and Karli. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Wayne in 1989. A private burial will be in Zillah following cremation. A celebration of Clara's life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2008, at 1:30 PM in the dining room of the Dry Creek Retirement/Assisted Living facility in Ellensburg.
