FREMONT — Clarajane "Janie" Hine, age 87, of Clear Lake, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 30, 2016, to be with her beloved husband, Bob. She was born on Nov. 8, 1928, in Fort Wayne, the daughter of Mae (Thiele) Eckert. She graduated from Central High School in 1945 in Fort Wayne. She married her high school sweetheart, Robert Hine, in 1947. After raising her family, she graduated from Defiance College, majoring in elementary education. She taught fourth and sixth grade for many years in the Defiance Northeast County Schools. Her life centered around her family. The "love" of her life was Bob and her family and her two beloved grandchildren, Justin and Lindsay, and daughter, Carolyn, and son-in-law, Gary. Her passion was planning family trips. She also, had a "warm spot" for puppy dogs and stray cats. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Chapel, Clear Lake, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hine in 2014. She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn (Hine) Hohenberger and a son- in-law Gary Hohenberger; her granddaughter, Lindsay (Hohenberger) Reinhold (Michael); grandson, Justin Hohenberger (Crystal); two great-grandchildren, Kiara and Mackenzy; and a stepbrother, Alan Eckert (Patricia) of Sarasota, Florida. A celebration of Janie's life will begin on Tuesday, July 5, 2016. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the Mass, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., with the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m., Tuesday, at St. Paul Catholic Chapel, 8780 E. C.R. 700N, Clear Lake, Fremont, Indiana, with Father Wilfred Logsdon officiating. Burial at Jamestown Cemetery will follow. She will be truly missed.
