Clarence Carter was born on February 22, 1934 in Glenmora, Louisiana to parents, Hillary and Nancy Carter. A resident of Atwater for 18 years. He passed away on October 27, 2016 in Atwater, California at the age of 82. Clarence was a U.S. Army veteran and a graduate of Cal State Hayward University in Hayward, California. He worked as a Juvenile Counselor for Alameda County Probation Department retiring with 22 years of service. He is survived by his wife Nadine Carter one daughter, Natalie Pitts, granddaughters, Courtney & Cayla, nieces, Sandra, Camila, Charlene, Monica, Yolanda, Sherri, Shanna and Odelia and nephews, Robert, Jonathan, Michael, Kenneth, Fred and Kirk and a host of grand nieces and nephews and other relatives. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Francis & Willie Thomas, his mother Nancy Thomas and his sister Gloria Hudson. Visitation will be held on Friday, November 4, 2016 from 10am to 10:45 am followed by a Homegoing service at 10:45am at Ivers & Alcorn Funeral Home in Atwater with burial and military honors to follow at 1:30 pm at San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Santa Nella.
