Clarence Eichstadt Obituary

Dec 09, 1921 - Jan 31, 2016

This obituary is administered by:
Eichstadt, ClarenceClarence Edward Eichstadt, died peacefully surrounded by family, at Parkview Healthcare Center on November 1st, 2016 at the age of 94. Clarence was born on December 9, 1921 in Appleton, WI to John and Marie (Pankow) Eichstadt.Clarence graduated from Appleton High School in 1941. After high school Clarence worked on the family farm as well as Kimberly Clark until opening a service station in the 1950's with his brother, Willard. The station remained open until 1984 when Clarence and Willard sold it and retired. In 1967 Clarence met Charlotte Dorman, marrying her on November 16, 1968. They spent the next 47 years, almost 48, together. They enjoyed going out old time dancing as well as traveling. Together they vacationed to Hawaii, Bahamas, California, Nevada, Florida, Arizona, and Mexico. In his younger days, Clarence also enjoyed golfing and a good game of sheephead. He liked riding his bike and carried that on as he got older on his exercise bike. He pumped that each and every morning until just a couple weeks ago. He was an avid packer fan and also enjoyed reading. He would read the newspaper, especially Dr. Donahue's column, along with magazines and instructional manuals that guided him to be a fix-it man. He was a great wealth of knowledge about pretty much anything and everything. In the last five years Charlotte has had to share Clarence's heart with two very special standard poodles, Smokey and Duke. Clarence loved being outdoors with them as often as possible. He spent endless hours playing ball or even just sitting outdoors with them lying at his feet. When the weather didn't permit ball playing outside they just moved it right into the kitchen!Clarence is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte, along with his two best friends Smokey and Duke. He is also survived by his older brother, Harold J. Eichstadt and nephews and niece: Kenneth (Manie) Eichstadt , James (Arlene) Eichstadt, Kenneth (Karla) Chivington, and Jacqueline Hauser along with their families. He is further survived by Charlotte's large extended family, sharing a special bond with Kim (Mike) Holmes and their children, Dalton and Avery, as he always looked forward to their daily visits. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Vincent (Josephine) Eichstadt, Willard (Laverne) Eichstadt, sisters: Marge (Harry) Chivington, Lorraine (Joe) Hauser; sister-in-law, Sally Eichstadt, and great-niece Lori Wilson.Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2016 at the funeral home and on Saturday, November 5, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m. Entombment will be in Lakeview Memorial Park. A memorial fund in Clarence's name is being established.
