YORK Clark E. Dahlheimer, 94, passed away at 3:10 a.m., Tuesday, September 2, 2014, at the Lutheran Home at Sprenkle Drive in York. He was the husband of the late Mary (Bair) Dahlheimer who passed away on April 15, 1989 and the companion of the late Doris Chantilly. Clark was born on April 20, 1920, in Manchester Township and was the son of the late Stuart and Martha (Wintermyer) Dahlheimer. He graduated from York High School in 1939. Clark proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps from June 1944 to April 1946 where he supported the U.S. World War II efforts in the Japanese Ryukyus Islands (including Okinawa) and China. He was hired in 1950 by Met-Ed in the line department at the Dillsburg district office and five years later he moved to the engineering office as a layout man. He retired from Met-Ed in 1985 with nearly 35 years of service. He was a member of the York Blue Lodge 266; Harrisburg Shrine; Harrisburg Consistory; Charter member of York County Shrine Club; Square Club; Elks Club where he once served as a Lodge Officer; Kreutz Creek Valley V.F.W. Post 7045 and the oldest member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church of Roundtown where he served on Council and Property Committee's. His passion was working at his farm in Dover and although he didn't follow professional sports, every year in August he was an avid watcher of the Little League World Series held in Williamsport. Clark is survived by his brother, Raymond Dahlheimer of Eliazbethtown; his grandchildren, Brian Dahlheimer and Sheryl Dahlheimer; his great-grandsons, Chris and Keith Dahlheimer; his great-great-grandson Aiden Dahlheimer and his cousin Harold Dahlheimer. He was preceded in death by his son, Dale Dahlheimer. A Masonic service will begin at 9:45 a.m. Saturday followed by his funeral service at 10 a.m., at The Diehl Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 87 S. Main St., Mount Wolf. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 10 a.m., Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery. Officiating at the service will be his pastor The Reverend Stephen Yambor. Full military honors will be performed by the York County Veterans Honor Guard at the graveside service.
