Douglas, Clayton "Red"Clayton Eugene "Red" Douglas, age 91, of Neenah, passed away on October 30, 2017. Red was born on November 18, 1925 in Neenah to Frank and Inez (Garfield) Douglas. He was a 1943 graduate of Neenah High School. After High School, he atteneded the Universtiy of Wisconsin, LaCrosse for two years before joining the military. In high school and college also played on the school football team. He served his country honorably during World War II as Radioman 3rd Class in the U.S. Navy. He served in the Pacific Theater in Iwo Jima, Guadalcanal and The Carolinas. On July 4, 1948 he married his wife Dorothy and she preceded him in death. He was employed with the Neenah Fire Department, retiring as Fire Chief in 1983. Red loved spending time with his family. His girls could soften his heart, even making it impossible for him to discipline them. He liked playing Golf, and bowling. He had a love/hate relationship with his Packers and a love for new cars and the "New Car Smell". He will be sadly missed by his daughters, Carol (Rich) Dalhoe of Chetek, Wisconsin, Janet (Tom) Hetzer of Oshkosh, grandchildren Cory Hollingsworth of Menasha, Julie (Todd) Keil of Combined Locks, and Lisa (Eric) Hall of Appleton, great-grandchildren, Travis (Courtney) Hollingsworth, Danielle Hollingsworth and Aurelia Hall, great-great-grandchild Jace Hollingsworth, brother Clyde (Janet) Douglas as well as many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dorothy and brother, Roy (Lucille) Douglas.At Red's request, private services were held.The family would like to thank the staff of Emerald Ridge Assisted Living for the professional yet caring attention given to Red in his time there.In lieu of flowers and other expressions of sympathy, the family asks for donations to be forwarded in Red's name to in Red's name.
