Mr. Clifford Larry Carnes of Campbellsville, beloved husband of Mamie (Kidwell) Carnes, passed from this life on Saturday, September 20, 2024 in Louisville at the Norton Hospital. Born on June 5, 1953 to the late Clifford and Betty (Bryant) Carnes, he was 71 years, 3 months, and 15 days of age. Mr. Carnes had made a profession of faith in Christ and was a member of God’s Grace Church. He was an avid golfer, he loved bowling, and he enjoyed watching sports of all types. Mr. Carnes was a former employee of Airborne Express and a cherished father, brother, and grandfather.

He leaves to mourn his passing:

  His wife: Mamie Carnes of Greensburg,

  Two sons: Darin Carnes and wife Shaun of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Nick Carnes of Summittville, Indiana,

  Two stepdaughters: Beverly Creason Wright and husband Lee Bishop of Campbellsville, and Ashley Creason of Greensburg,

  Three siblings: Dennis Carnes and wife Viola of Indianapolis, Robert Carnes and wife Patty of Michigan, and Robin Burton and husband Gary of Campbellsville,

  A stepbrother: Larry Akin of Campbellsville,

  Two step-grandchildren,

  And a host of other family and friends.

  He was also preceded in death by his stepmother, Vernice Carnes; and three siblings, Ronald D. Carnes, Darlene Decker, and Gary Carnes.

  There will be a funeral service to honor the life of Mr. Carnes on Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the L.R. Petty Funeral Home, 1765 New Columbia Rd, Campbellsville, KY. Bro. John Stilts will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Bearwallow Cemetery in Adair County.

  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, September 23, after 5:00 PM.

  In lieu of flowers, please consider memorials in the form of donations to the funeral expenses. Those can be made in person at the funeral home, or online through the “How Can I Help” tab.
