Clifford Charles Lawrence, 94, passed away peacefully at his home in Yucaipa, California on October 12, 2012. He was surrounded by his four children: Roger Lawrence, Susan Soudriett, Karen Williams and Pamela Lawrence, as well as son-in-law Steven Williams, daughter-in law Joyce Lawrence, and friend and caretaker Joe Baeza. Mr. Lawrence was born on January 3, 1918 in Los Angeles, California, son of Robert M. and Stella (Huntzinger) Lawrence. He married Carol Delores McBrayer in Los Angeles in 1939 and they celebrated 68 years of loving marriage until her death in 2007. Clifford Lawrence had a long career as an Industrial Engineer at North American Aviation/ Rockwell spanning WWII through aerospace programs. An avid hunter and fisherman, he operated sporting goods stores in Downey and Bellflower and was recently honored by California Fish & Game for 50 years of teaching Hunter Safety. Lawrence, with family and lifetime friends, hunted deer in the High Sierras for over 50 years. After retirement Lawrence managed three duck hunting clubs in the Imperial Valley until he again retired to Yucaipa, where his three daughters also live. Lawrence was twice Worshipful Master of Brawley Masonic Lodge #402 and was a member of Fellowship Lodge #668 in Yucaipa. He and wife Carol were also active in the Chamber of Commerce and Tomato Festival when they resided in Niland. In addition to Lawrence's children, he leaves seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren; a brother, Gerald Lawrence of Laguna Niguel; seven nephews and one niece. His family will host a celebration of Clifford Lawrence's life with Masonic services at noon on Saturday, November 17, 2012, at the Bonanza Mobile Home Park, 13645 5th Street, corner of County Line Road, Yucaipa.
