Mr. Clyde Melton Hailey of Rockwell passed away on Monday, June 23, 2014, at Novant Health Rowan Medical Center. He was 60.
Mr. Hailey was born on April 25, 1954, in Davidson County, son of Mary Elizabeth Keith Hailey Painther of Salisbury and the late Clyde Franklin Hailey.
Mr. Hailey was a 1974 graduate of West Rowan High School and was employed as a Forklift Driver for Supply One in Rockwell. He also mowed grass at Fast Stop Number 304 in Salisbury. Mr. Hailey enjoyed working on cars, playing with his dogs, liked to put model cars together and was an avid computer operator.
Mr. Hailey is also survived by special friends, Sarah Roten of Creston, Scottie Roten, Crystal Reece and Sherry Miller; special nephews, Chris Campbell of Creston, and Ronald Beaver of Rockwell; and best friend Albert "Red" Rogers.
He is also survived by brothers Larry Hailey of Charleston, South Carolina, Barry Hailey of Rockwell, Tim Hailey of Carolina Beach; and sisters Rosie Sluder of Salisbury, Frankie Hutto of Granite Quarry and Janie Beaver of Salisbury; and by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for the family will be held at Powles Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 26, 2014.
Funeral services will be held at Powles Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 27, 2014, and conducted by Rev. Buddy Hoffner, pastor Bible Missionary Church and Rev. Chuck Call of West Jefferson. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Cemetery in China Grove.
