. MOUNT PLEASANT - Clyde M. Wells, Jr. (formerly of Morton Grove, IL) passed away on Friday, October 2, 2015 at his home. Clyde, or Son, as his parents called him, was born on December 29, 1931, to the late Clyde Sr. and Ann Wells in Chicago, IL. Clyde is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Phyllis (nee Kidd), and his children: Bill Wells (Laura) and Amy Petersen (Scott). Grandpa Clyde will also be dearly missed by his grandchildren: Chloe Wells, Brian Wells, Christopher Wells, Ashlee (Harlib) Tumlinson, Daniel Harlib, Dakota Harlib, Michael Petersen, David Petersen, and great-grandchildren: Rishka Tumlinson, Sophia Harlib, and Jacen Harlib. Clyde served in the Army at the end of the Korean War. After coming home from the war to his bride, Clyde worked for his father-in-law at the family business, Supreme Radio, in Chicago for 25 years. Clyde then worked at Zenith Headquarters in Glenview IL until he retired in 1997. Clyde enjoyed pulling the trailer and camping, traveling, and watching sports--especially baseball and football. He enjoyed working on cars and had a special bond with the boys-- teaching them all that he knew. Clydes favorite time of the year was his birthday where the family held the tradition of making homemade ravioli for the celebration. A memorial service for Clyde will be held on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Mount Pleasant Lutheran Church (1700 Green Bay Rd.) at 7:00 p.m. Visitation with the family will begin at 6:00 p.m. with fellowship after the service.
