Clydie A. McCrummen, 56, of Juneau, Alaska passed away on May 12, 2012, after a brief but determined and courageous battle with brain cancer. Her children and granddaughters were with her during her final days, giving her great comfort.Clydie was born on August 9, 1955 in Sinton, Texas to Clyde and LaWanda Reynolds, and raised in Aransas Pass, Texas. She left the Texas coast in 1978 to follow her husband during his military career, living in Maine, Louisiana, Texas, Alaska, Oregon, and Washington. In 1995 they made their home in Juneau, where Clydie pursued her own career in accounting with the State of Alaska.Clydie loved a fresh cup of coffee, Disney and Western movies, time with her close friends, and most of all, doting on her granddaughters. She would go fishing at the drop of a hat, crafted a number of beautiful quilts for family and friends, and more recently learned to ride and rode her motorcycle when the sun shone. Before she knew the disease would eventually take her away from us she was an ardent supporter of the .Clydie is preceded in death by her parents, sister Sheila, and grandson Austin. She is survived by her former husband Dan of Juneau, her son Darryl (Rose) McCrummen of Sitka, Alaska, daughter Dayna (Steve) Robertson of Juneau, Alaska, son Hugh (Adaira) McCrummen of Redmond, Washington, brother Roy (Delecia) Reynolds of Mound, Texas, her two beautiful granddaughters, Laurie DeBolt and Gwen McCrummen, and her long time dear friend, Donna Collins. She also leaves behind an extended family of loving sisters, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins as well as a many caring friends.A Celebration of Life will be held in Juneau on Saturday, May 19th at 6:00 PM at the Glacier Valley Baptist Church followed by a potluck reception. A memorial service will be held in Aransas Pass, Texas at a later date where Clydie's ashes will be scattered at the Fisherman's Memorial.
