Cameron, A. ColinMADISON - The Madison film making community lost a beloved member on Sunday, November 6, 2016. A. Colin Cameron, age 77, of Madison, passed away unexpectedly from complications due to a fall; he died at the UW Hospital surrounded by several close friends and his sister, Mary. Colin was born on October 8, 1939, the son of Donald and Mary Louise (Schlecht) Cameron. Colin grew up in Berkley, California; Ottawa, Ontario, Canada; Rossville, Illinois; and Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. In the early 60s, he came to Madison to do his graduate work at the UW-Madison campus. He worked for UW-Madison as a librarian, then took a sabbatical to pursue his love of writing. Colin was a writer, photographer, film maker, avid reader, actor, artist, musician and life-long student and enjoyed cycling, swimming and traveling. He truly lived life to the fullest. Colin is survived by his sister, Mary Eleanor Martel-Cantelon, of Ottawa, ON, Canada. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Colin's life will be held later this year in Madison.
