CONCETTA 'CONNIE' PARDUS, 78 LENA - Concetta "Connie" Pardus age 78, a beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, of Lena, IL passed away Monday December 30th in McConnell, Illinois surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 23, 1935 in Chicago, Illinois. She was the daughter of Anthony and Rose (Costa) Panico. On June 11, 1955 Connie married Jerome L. Pardus in Chicago, Illinois. Connie was formerly employed by MTX in Winslow, Illinois as a line leader she also worked at Fitness on Main in Lena. Her and her family raised and raced standardbred race horses and raced throughout the Midwest. The family raised and showed sheep all over the Midwest. She enjoyed going to the fairs and watching her children and grandchildren showing the sheep and seeing longtime friends at fairs. Connie enjoyed going with her friends to Coaches in Lena and doing her crafts. Connie is survived by her sons, Jerry (Robin) Pardus Jr. of McConnell and Vincent Pardus of North Richland Hills, Texas; three grandchildren, John (Joy) Rohdy, Amber Pardus, Jerry R. Pardus (special friend Taryn); great-grandchildren, Codey Rohdy and Christopher Rohdy; her mother Rose M. Panico of Glendale Heights and her brother, Benjamin Panico of Glendale Heights. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died in September 1994; an infant son; her father; and a brother, James. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 2 at 10 a.m. at the Leamon Funeral Home in Lena, IL. Father Michael Morrissey will officiate at the service. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 1 from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral Home. Interment will be at Rock Lily cemetery in Winslow, IL. A memorial has been established in her name.
