Constance A. ArnoldDes MoinesOn November 7, 2017, Heaven gained a beautiful angel when Constance Arnold passed away peacefully at her home. Constance Audrey Thein Arnold was born on November 22, 1932, to Howard and Nancy Thein. During the course of her life, Connie lived many places and was always up for an adventure. She loved playing cards with friends and never saw a casino she didn't like, though she would be quick to point out that some paid off better than others. As a single parent of 5 children, Connie worked tirelessly and did whatever she had to do to put food on the table and take care of her children. Having been diagnosed with lung cancer decades ago, Connie battled back valiantly from numerous recurrences with courage that was an inspiration to all around her. To Connie, her greatest gifts in life were her children; Stephen Hansen, Darcie Hansen(Donna), Bruce Arnold, Mark(Jenni) Arnold and Kristan Arnold Decker(Brian). And if you think she was proud of those children, you only had to be around Connie for a very short period of time to know how proud she was of her grandchildren; Brian(Rene) Hansen, Stephanie Hansen, Matthew Arnold, Madison Arnold, Cameron Arnold, Kaylee Arnold, Caitlyn Gruening, Courtney Arnold, Triston Decker, Taheton Decker and Tieganne Decker. Not a day went by, or a decision made, that Connie didn't think of her family first. Every milestone in their lives was met with a thoughtful card or gift that expressed her pride in each and every one of their accomplishments. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Connie is survived by her brother Pat Thein(Frankie) 2 nephews, a niece and 2 great grandchildren.Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Howard and Nancy Thein, and her daughter-in-law, Jocelyn Arnold. Please join the family on November 19, 2017, from 1-4 at the Ding Darling Shelter House at Birdland to share memories of Connie and how her smile brightened up a room. If you wish to make a memorial gift in Connie's name, it can be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.."A good woman is hard to find and worth far more than diamonds." Proverbs 31:10
