It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Cora O'Neill, a beloved member of the Buxton, North Carolina community. Cora was born on April 10, 1958, to her loving parents George and Sherry O'Neill, and she peacefully departed from this world on July 11, 2023.

Cora was a dedicated partner to Chuck Davis, who shared many precious years together. Together, they raised two wonderful children, Chuck Davis Jr. and Leighanne Davis, who meant the world to Cora. Her love for her family was immeasurable, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Cora was also a proud grandmother to two grandchildren. Devon Chrisley and Tyler Winslow, who brought immense joy and happiness into her life.

Education held a significant place in Cora's life, and she attended Dare County Highschool. It was here that she cultivated her love for learning and made lifelong friendships. In 1975, Cora successfully graduated from Dare County Highschool, equipped with knowledge and ready to embark on her journey.

Cora's professional life revolved around the Scotch Bonnet, where she dedicated many years of service. Her hard work, dedication, and positive attitude were commendable, leaving a lasting impact on the establishment and its patrons.

Outside of her career, Cora was a vibrant and active member of the Buxton community. She possessed a warm and compassionate nature, always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. Cora had a special talent for making everyone around her feel welcome and loved.

Cora's free time was often filled with activities she cherished. She loved nature and regularly took long walks on the beautiful beaches of Buxton, finding solace in the crashing waves and breathtaking sunsets. Cora had an artistic side and enjoyed painting in her spare moments, creating masterpieces that captured the beauty she observed in the world.

Cora's kindness, compassion, and infectious laughter will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will forever be cherished by her family and friends.

In honor of Cora's life and the impact she had on the community, a memorial service will be held on July 15th, 2023, at the Avon Pier. With Gallop funeral services officiating.
