Croce AmatoAGE: 82 • VinelandCroce Amato, 82, of Vineland, passed away peacefully on March 21, 2017. Croce was born on March 8, 1935 in Carini, Sicily to the late Pietro and Giuseppa Amato. He served in the Italian Army as a paratrooper. After serving, he moved to the United States and opened several local Italian restaurants. He was an amazing cook who loved cooking for his family well after his retirement. In his free time, he enjoyed gardening and watching the Phillies. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Croce is survived by his sons, Riccardo (Kelly) and Geno (Donna); daughter, Giuseppina Weglarz (Jeff); five grandchildren, Julianna Cooke (Nick), Giovanna, Sofia, Christopher, and Emma; one great grandchild Colin Cooke; brother Pietro Amato (Sarina), sisters Benedetta Mannino (Carlo) and Ninfa Oliveri (Pino). The family would like to thank Spring Oak Assisted Living and Bishop McCarthy Residence and Nursing Facility for their care and support. Funeral home visitations will be held on Sunday evening from 6pm to 8pm and again on Monday morning from 9am to 10am at Rone Funeral Service, 1110 East Chestnut Avenue, Vineland, NJ. A funeral mass will take place at 10:30 am from Christ The Good Shepherd Parish - Church Of Saint Isidore The Farmer, 1655 Magnolia Road, Vineland.
