Cynthia J. Gabbey RACINE Cindi (nee: Potter) Gabbey, 63, passed away on Saturday, November 14, 2015 with her family by her side. She was born on April 25, 1952 in Waterloo, Iowa to Donald and Jane Potter. Cindi moved with her family, including brothers, Doug and Brian Potter to Racine as a child where she grew her roots and spent the rest of her life. While attending Horlick High School she met her high-school sweetheart Alan Gabbey, who she married June 19, 1971 and enjoyed a wonderful 44 years of marriage. They purchased and lived in their house for 39 years where they raised three children, Nick (Holly) Gabbey, Kevin (Cathy) Gabbey, and Sarah (Alex) Vincer, all of Racine. Cindi cherished her grand- children; Tyler, Geneva, Avery, Morgan, Collin, and Felix. She retired after 16 years of employment at Wheaton Franciscan-All Saints where she met many dear friends including Sue Hyak and Deb Blonksi. Cindi looked forward to every summer when she could enjoy her greatest hobby of gardening. She loved to cook and the entire family looked forward to her home-made dinners every Sunday. Over the past several years, in a showing of how kind and generous she was, Cindi began a tradition of taking her entire family on vacations to places such as Disney World, Wisconsin Dells, Myrtle Beach and Door County. Wonderful life-long memories were made during these family vacations. Cindi was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law, Howard Gabbey, mother-in-law, Betty Gabbey and brother-in-law, James Gabbey.
