CYNTHIA 'CINDY' A. (DOWDle) MCWILLIAMS, 63 FREEPORT - Cynthia "Cindy" A. (Dowdle) McWilliams, 63, of Freeport, died Wednesday, June 5, 2013, surrounded by her family. Cindy was born on November 28, 1949, in Lincoln, Illinois, the daughter of Walter F. and Norma M. (Krotz) Dowdle. Cindy was a 1967 graduate of Aquin High School. Cindy was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, where she was a C.C.D. teacher, and from 1996-2011 was active in the adoration chapel. Cindy worked for Fifth Third Bank before retiring in 2011. Surviving are her mother, Norma Dowdle of Freeport; grandchildren, Amelia Bellizzi and Dean Bellizzi; son, Ryan (Robin) McWilliams of Carol Stream; daughter, Caroline (Chris) Bellizzi of St. Charles; three brothers, Michael Dowdle of Detroit, MI., Timothy (Janine) Dowdle of Phoenix, MD., and George (Pam) Dowdle of Plainfield; sisters, Colleen (Mark) Gallagher of Freeport, Cathie (Bob) Hoover of St. Cloud, MN., Carol (David) Keith of Freeport and Mary Liz Dowdle of Detroit, MI. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Cindy was preceded in death by her father. Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Saturday June 8, 2013, at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Msgr. P. William McDonnell officiating. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 p.m. Friday at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home in Freeport. A rosary service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday at Burke Tubbs. There will also be a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at St. Thomas. A memorial has been established in Cindy's memory. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
