D. Richard Trask of Independence, Mo. died Sept. 2, 2016 after a several year struggle with Lewy Body dementia.Richard was born on Jan. 13, 1933 in Honesdale, PA to Harvey and Catherine (Kellachow) Trask, now deceased.He graduated from Honesdale High School in 1950 and continued his education at Long Island Technical & Agricultural College, Utah State University and University of Houston Clear Lake.As a USN veteran, he served on a radar picket ship.Dick was a committed runner of 31 marathons, running with friends in the hot, humid Houston summers where he resided for 47 years.He hiked the Colorado Mountains and to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. During his visit to his boyhood hometown, he ran the hills of Wayne County enjoying the solitude.Dick started his career with GE in Syracuse and in Houston and was involved in the engineering aspects of ground to spacecraft transmission.As the program closed, he stayed in Houston and became the Director of Admissions to the UH Clear Lake Graduate School of Business.He finished his career as Director of Admissions at the Jones Graduate School of Business, Rice University retiring in 1998.He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ann Schafle; a daughter, Karen Thomey (Paul Garcia), Scottsdale, AZ; a son, Bruce (Timberlyn) Blue Springs, MO; 1 grandchild, 3 great grandchildren; a brother, Robert Trask (Jane) Forth WOrth, TX and a sister, Marilyn Highhouse (James) Honesdale, PA, as well as nieces and nephews.A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Dec. 10 at the First Presbyterian Church Chapel, Honesdale, PA,
