Reeves, Dale Douglas,75, of Oxnard CA, died at 9 p.m. January 8, 2017 at the Victoria Rehabilitation Center in Ventura, CA, following a brief illness.Dale was born on January 15, 1941 in Louisville. He graduated from Shawnee High School in 1959 and was awarded a Division I basketball scholarship to Florida State University, where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. After graduation, Dale moved to California where he resided until his death. He was a successful real estate investor and founder of Reeves Properties, a real estate management company.Dale was preceded in death by his parents O. Burton and Mary Catherine Walls Reeves. He is survived by two daughters, Kelly Reeser and Kathy Meeks, and five grandchildren: Robby 22, Casey 8, Ryan 16, William 13, and Lucille 11.Dale ran a small antiques business through the 1990s, with a personal collection of many fine antiques. He also was a competitive poker player who enjoyed visiting with friends and meeting new people at the card table. His likable personality and attention to detail served him well through a successful career and fulfilling life. Dale will be sorely missed by everyone who knew and loved him.A memorial service will be held at the Woodlawn Mausoleum, 1847 14th St., Santa Monica, CA 90404 at 10 a.m. Friday, January 13, 2017.
