PETERSEN, Dale G. Age 89, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 23, 2016, with his loving family by his side. Dale was born on March 2, 1927 on the family farm in Lowden, Iowa. He was raised in Clinton, Iowa by his mother and step-father, Alice and Don Boegel. As a child he worked various jobs including delivering telegrams and as a paper boy. He attended Clinton High School, and enlisted in the United States Navy just before graduation at 17 years of age. He served overseas in the Marianna Islands. In 1950 he graduated from the University of Iowa and began his 40 year career in the Insurance Industry. Dale married the love of his life, Geraldine Yaeger, on September 2, 1956. They are the proud parents of Jeffrey (Sandy) Petersen and Linda (Daniel) Phillips; grandparents to Adam (Katrina), Douglas (LaShawna), and Micah Petersen, and great-grandparents to Reagan Louise and River Abigail. He also leaves his sisters-in-law Ruth (Bill) Gritton and Thelma Gesling, and his extended family of faith at the Fairhaven Church. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, October 27, 2016 at the Fairhaven Church, 637 E. Whipp Rd. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Miami Valley Memory Garden Cemetery.
