Dale R. Heyn passed away in Rochester on Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016 He was the son of the late Richard A. and Grace C. (Miller) Heyn. Dale was born on Dec. 26, 1939, in Rochester. He was baptized at Redeemer Lutheran Church and became a member of Grace Lutheran Church when it began in 1943. He was confirmed in 1954 at Grace and continued as a lifelong member of Grace Lutheran Rochester. Dale graduated from Rochester High School in 1957 and shortly after, began a 36-year career with IBM. After retiring from IBM in 1993, he began working for Car Quest Auto Parts until October 2016. Dale married Charlotte Marie Keith on July 8, 1961. They had four children, Lisa St. Martin of Rochester, Scott of Rochester, Nancy (Larry) Gannon of Janesville, Minn., and Lora (Paul) Serafini of Inver Grove Heights, Minn. Dale also leaves behind his grandchildren, Brian St. Martin of Coon Rapids, Minn., Anni St. Martin of Rochester and Clare and Tom Gannon of Janesville. Dale is also survived by his sister, Ardyce (Alton) Schroeder of Elgin. He held many positions at Grace Lutheran Church and Rochester Central Lutheran School (RCLS) Dale enjoyed accomplishing the restoration of his 1939 Mercury Coupe. Dale loved being on his deck reading, working crossword puzzles and watching birds. He appreciated any time he could be fishing with family and friends in both Minnesota and Arkansas. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Oct.31, at Grace Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 30,at Ranfranz and Vine Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service Monday at the church.
