Dale William WagnerAnkenyDale Wagner died at Trinity Center on March 6, after years of battling Alzheimer's disease. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Sat., March 11 at Ankeny Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Fri., March 10th, also at the church. He was born on February 9, 1938 at Burlington, IA. He graduated from ISU with a degree in Agriculture and a Master's degree in Student Services/Counseling. He worked at DMACC as a Student Career Counselor. He was an active member of ICCSSA (Iowa Community College Student Services Assoc.). He retired from DMACC in 2000 and returned to work part time in the Counseling and Business and Technology Departments until 2010. He was active in the DMACC Pioneers retiree group. Dale was a member of the Ankeny Presbyterian Church. He was one of the original drivers of the Ankeny Marching Hawk Band Trailer. Other hobbies and interests included gardening, small motor repair, video and still photography, and wine making. He was known for his wood carving of Santas.He is survived by his wife, Ruth; children, Janet (Bryan) Johnson, and Eric Wagner; grandson, Evan Wagner; sisters, Doris Nelson, Doreen (Mark) Stolze, and Donna (Tom) Woehrle; brother-in-law Robert (Mary) Davidson and 16 nieces and nephews, their spouses and children.Memorials may be made to DMACC Foundation (memo: Pioneer's Scholarship), Ankeny Presbyterian Church, or of Greater Iowa.
