Dan Lee Cooper, Sr., 78, of Springhill, Florida, passed away on March 1, 2022. Dan was born on July 17, 1943 to Ivory Cooper & Alzenia Langs in St. Petersburg, Fl. After graduating from Howard Academy High School in 1962, he enlisted into the United States Army where he deployed with TRP L 3rd Squadron 6th Ace FGGM MD fighting in the Vietnam War for 11 months and 28 days. His heroic actions earned him two Purple Hearts and one Bronze Star Medal. After his service to his country he landed a job with Rinker Group, INC in Miami, Fl as a Control Room Operator where he worked for 43 years. In 1986, he met Mary Ann Kinsey, and they wed in 1989, blending their families of then 10 children. The family continued to grow with the birth of their daughter Angelina (lil bit). Dan was a force of nature, determined to provide for his family and give them the life he felt they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, something he often mentioned. He was unendingly proud of everyone of his kids and always tried his best to support them. Dan was a huge Miami Dolphins fans, as well as an avid gun and knife collector and took great pride in the appearance of his yard . He could often be found walking the isles of Wal-Mart after his retirement or watching Western Movies at home. Anyone who knew Dan knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. Dan was preceded in death by Ivory Cooper (father), Alzenia Langs (Mother), Willie Mae Cooper (Step-Mother), Geraldine Barnhart (Sister), Darryle Cooper (Son) Gary Damon (Son). He is survived by his wife Mary Ann Cooper. Daughters: Abigail Cooper-Mcgloster, Ganene Cooper, Genea Cooper (Frederick), Tedra Sanders (Eric), Anquinette Avant, and Angelina Cooper. Sons: Greg Cooper, Felton Avant and Dan L Cooper Jr., 23 grandchildren, 2 sisters and a several nieces and nephews.
