Daniel Allen HarbaughFebruary 3, 1947 - August 28, 2017Daniel Allen Harbaugh passed away peacefully on August 28, 2017 at Avamere Salem Transitional Center.He was born on February 3, 1947 to Marvin & Kathleen Harbaugh, the oldest of 6 children. He attended St. Vincent De Paul Grade School, Waldo Middle School, and graduated from North Salem High in 1965. Dan loved music, fishing, and baseball. When he was young, he learned to play the accordion by ear and had his own band in high school. He entered the Navy in 1965 and served in Vietnam from 1966-1967, completing his service in 1969. He returned to Salem, and in 1971, began working at Salem/Keizer Yellow Cab where he was a driver, dispatcher, and eventually an owner and president of the company, retiring in 2002. In 2015 he moved to Orchard Heights assisted living. Due to his declining health he moved to Salem Trans in August 2017, where he passed away peacefully. He is survived by Tanya, Ashley, Jordyn, Marvin, Dennis Ross, Kerry, Sue, many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kathleen in 1992, and brother Timothy in 2006.Family and friends gathering on Sept. 17, 2pm, at 2900 Oakcrest Dr. NW, Salem.
