Daniel Eugene Brazil Our beloved and devoted father, grandpa, brother, and friend passed peacefully into the arms of our Lord and Savior on August 21, 2017. Dan was born on September 23, 1948, in Tacoma, WA, to Ray and Rose Brazil. After graduating from Lincoln High School in 1966, he proudly served with the Airborne Army Rangers, 2nd 75th Battalion, Charlie Company. After his honorable discharge he began a successful career selling cars all over the US for Cal Worthington. In 2002, Dan joined MV Transportation, Inc., where he worked in Seattle for a year before managing a contract for their transit service in Solvang, CA. Later, Dan became one of MV's senior hiring managers, working at various locations, including New York, Washington DC, and Los Angeles. He retired in 2014 after working for the MV Team at Microsoft. Dan was loved at MV for his work ethic and the respect he demonstrated to all employees. Besides his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his wife, Cheryl. He is survived by his children Adria (Donny) and Christopher; brothers Joe, Steve (Becky), and John; sister-in-law Karen; grandchildren Ariel (Dan), Alec, and Eva; nieces and nephews Stephanie, Anthony, Meagen, and Jessica; and great-nephew Beniah. Dan was also loved by many amazing friends and compassionate care-givers. Dan's passions included spending time with his family and numerous lifelong friends, riding his Harley, a great game of chess, and caring for all animals he met. He will be forever remembered for the devotion to his faith, family, friends, and animals, and his smile that could light up a room. Special and heartfelt thanks to the Lodde family for their lifelong friendship, love, and support during his time of need. A celebration of Dan's life will be held at 12:10pm on Friday, Sept. 1, at St. Leo's Church in Tacoma. A reception lunch will follow at the Hotel Murano. He will be laid to rest at Tahoma National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made "In Memory of Dan Brazil," to the Franciscan Hospice House in University Place, WA.
