Daniel E. Siracuse, of Montrose, Pa and Crescent City, Fla., passed away, November 25, 2015 at Shand's Hospital in Gainesville, Fla. His wife of 30 years, Linda L. (Steele) Siracuse survives. He was born on April 28, 1927 in Swoyersville, Pa. to Charles Siracuse and Nellie (Holly) Siracuse, Lott, Hibbard.Also surviving are his sons, Michael (Susan) of Meshoppen, Fred of Montrose; daughter, Judy (Robert) Thomas of Brooklyn; daughter-in-law, Terri Siracuse, Meshoppen; stepdaughter, Lisa Thomas, Old Forge; stepson, Douglas (Beth) Decker, Montrose; five grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; sister, Rose Himel of Louisiana; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, his son, Daniel E. Siracuse Jr.; sister, Nellie Cokely; and brothers, Charles Siracuse and Rexford Lott predeceased him. Dan Served with the US Army during the World War II Era. He was a member of the American Legion Post 154 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5642. He retired from Universal Instruments of Binghamton, N.Y., and while in good health he enjoyed golfing, fishing, farming with his sons, and continued to be the mastermind with his sons farming projects.A Military Service for Dan will be held at the South Montrose Cemetery, Sunday, June 5, 2016 beginning at 2 pm, followed by a "Celebration of Dan's Life" at the Montrose American Legion, Post 154.
