MAXTON — Daniel Jay Woessner, 58, passed away at his home on Feb. 6, 2016 after a long illness.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday at the Main Street United Methodist Church in McColl, officiated by the Rev. Ann Everett. Burial will follow in Hillside Memorial Park.
Daniel was born on July 16, 1957 in Bowling Green, Ohio, a loving son of Nola Jean Whittmer Woessner and the late Jacob Isaiah Woessner. He retired after 39 years of service from L.O.F. / Pilkington Glass. He was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church in McColl, South Carolina. Daniel loved spending time with family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling to the Outer Banks, tinkering and caring for his canine friends.
Daniel is survived by his wife of 36 years Cynthia "Cyndie" Burgess Woessner of their home, daughters Erika Mathews (Jacob) of Cary and Courtney Woessner of the home, his mother Nola Jean Woessner of Bowling Green, Ohio, brothers Michael Woessner of Ohio and Jimmy Woessner (Tonya) of Wingate, sisters Susan White (Mike) of Matthews and Julie Woessner of Bowling Green, Ohio, and his grandchildren Emma Grace Mathews and Caleb Daniel Mathews.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday at Richard Boles Funeral Service.
The family requests that memorial donations be given in Daniel's memory to Scotland Regional Hospice, P.O. Box 1033, Laurinburg, NC 28353 or Main Street United Methodist Church, 210 N. Main Street, McColl, SC 29570.
