Daniel (Dan) (Danny) John King CHESTERTOWN - Daniel (Dan)(Danny) John King, 60 of Chestertown, NY passed away at home with his wife by his side on Sunday, November 5, 2017 of complications from COPD. Dan was born on March 16, 1957 2nd of 5 children to Jack (Bernard) and Alice (Combs) King in the small little town of Indian Lake, NY. He married Pamela Lattimore on March 14, 1987 at Bay Road Presbyterian Church in Queensbury, NY. Besides his parents, Dan was predeceased by his sister, Audrey Kurimsky of Queenbury and, his father-in-law, Donald E. Lattimore of Glens Falls and his faithful companion of 12 years Baxter, the kind hearted and gentle Golden Retriever that shared so many days of fishing and frolicking in the waters of the Adirondacks. Besides his wife, he is survived by his Daughter, Kristen King, of Indian Lake, and Granddaughter, Bryce McKenna Mitchell also of Indian Lake. His Sisters, Vicki McDougall and her Husband, Wayne of Phoenix, NY and their children Heidi and Mandy. Cindy Hansen of Indian Lake and her children Joe, Sarah and Trevor. And his Brother, Ken King and his children Stephanie and Jackie and his wife, Kelly and their child Dan also of Indian Lake, and finally a brother-in-law, Tom Kurimsky and his children, Matthew, Heather and Allison. His Brother-in-law, Scott Lattimore and wife Suzanne of Killeen, TX and their children Robert and Amanda, his Mother-in-law, Lois Lattimore of Glens Falls. He is also survived by many Aunts/Uncles, Cousins on both his wife’s and his side of the family, and the wonderful Friends and family that gave their amazing support throughout this journey of life. For without their help over these past few years, he would not have been able to stay at home where he was most at peace. Dan graduated from Indian Lake Central School in 1974 and was active in Baseball, Soccer and Basketball. His career took many twists and turns within the Building Material Industry. Starting in the Warehouse and moving up the ladder to Management positions and finally to Sales, he received many awards and accolades along the way. In 2008 he decided to change careers and accepted a position at Lincoln Logs in Chestertown, NY as a Customer Care and Purchasing Agent. When the company was sold abruptly, he decided to join Glens Falls Hospital’s Supply Chain division. He was their Purchasing Agent until his retirement in 2016. He made many lifelong friends at many of the companies he worked within and always felt fortunate that many remained his friends to this day. Most friends and colleagues will always remember his contagious laugh. If you were having a bad day, you need just stop by his office because he could always make anyone laugh. A Celebration of Dan’s Life will be held at the Singleton, Sullivan and Potter Funeral Home, 407 Bay Road in Queensbury on Friday, November 10 starting at 3 p.m. and running through 6 p.m. On Saturday, November 11, in order that his friends and family in Indian Lake can also share in the celebration of his life, the Miller Funeral Home 6357 NYS Rte. 30 in Indian Lake invites everyone to a celebration starting at 12:00 noon followed by a 2:00 p.m. memorial service with the Rev. Dick Engert from High Peaks Hospice officiating. Everyone is invited to attend an open house at the Parker Benton American Legion Hall, Indian Lake, across the street from the Funeral home immediately following the service.
