DANIEL (DANSKI) KOSZCZEWSKI Einan's at Sunset Daniel ("Danski") Hans Koszczewski passed away at Kadlec Hospital in Richland surrounded by his family and friends on November 19, 2016 at the age of 59. Dan is survived by Betsy his loving wife of 24 years. He is also survived by son Shawn Koszczewski and his wife Catherine of Spokane, WA; daughter Katie Koszcz-ewski of Richland, WA; mother Geraldine Koszczewski of Richland, WA; sister Cynthia Mammenga of Maplewood, MN; brother Nick Koszczewski and his wife Liz of Altus, OK; grandson Lucas Koszczewski of Spokane; 3 nieces, 2 nephews and many more family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Reinhold in 2015. Dan was born on June 13, 1957 in La Crosse, WI to Reinhold and Geraldine (Lesky) Koszczewski. Growing up he was an Airforce brat, with his family moving several times including a time in Berlin, Germany. He graduated from Kalispell High School in 1976. He went on to earn his AA Degree from Wenatchee Valley College in 1982 and his BA in Business Administration-Finance from Eastern Washington University in 1984. Before attending college, he served in the Army, enlisting as an Airborne Ranger Pathfinder, was later commissioned as an officer in the Army National Guard, and retired as a Captain with the National Guard Reserves. He had many stories of his time in the military and served proudly. Dan had a long and successful career in banking. He attended Seafirst's Bank Officer Candidate Program and upon completion worked as a commercial lender at the Seafirst Branch in Yakima, WA. Over the years he worked for several banks, ending as a Vice President of Key Bank with the Kennewick Commercial Banking Team. He enjoyed his work, his many colleagues and clients. He served as treasurer of the BMW Freeriders motorcycle club and thoroughly enjoyed all the friends he made there and rides he was able to make. He loved living in the Tri-Cities because he was able to ride almost year round. Dan was an active member of the Columbia Center Rotary and was a Boys and Girls Club mentor where he enjoyed "just being a kid with the kids." He had a unique sense of humor and loved a good laugh. No matter where he was, he enjoyed meeting and talking with people whether they were old friends or someone he'd just met. A celebration of his life will be held Friday, December 2, 2016 at 1:00 pm at the Events at Sunset in Richland. Donations in his name can be made to the Tri-Cities Cancer Center.
