MANITOWOC - Age 51, passed away January 1, 2016 at his home surrounded by family and loved ones. Danny was born on November 16, 1964 in Racine to the late Donald and Carolyn Sokelis Watton. He graduated from Washington Park High School in Racine. A true renaissance man who lived life to the fullest; Danny was a lifetime artist and entrepreneur, accomplished in many mediums of art, architecture & design, building renovation, classic cars, gardening, hunting, travel, and was a prolific photographer. In business, he was involved with Lechter’s, Schuette’s Department Store, Cook’s Corner, Premier Café, and Blooms and Basil.  Opening in 2001 Premier Café in downtown Manitowoc was a welcoming place that also helped begin to bring down walls and open doors of acceptance towards diversity in Manitowoc.  This was done simply with great mochas served with genuine love, humor, and compassion. Following this venture was Blooms and Basil Greenhouse and Giftshop, where Dan was able to really showcase his combined retail and artistic talents, as well as his love for all things Christmas.  He is sadly missed by partner, Scott Schuette; brother, Michael Watton; other relatives and many close friends as well as his sweet dog Miss Daisy. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald D. Watton, his brother Richard A. Watton, and his mother, Carolyn H. Watton. A visitation will be held at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. There will be a service of shared thoughts and memories by family and friends at 6 p.m. which will be followed by a reception at the Harrigan Parkside Gathering Center located on the south property of the funeral home. Cremation has taken place at the Harrigan Parkside Crematory and Chapel. Online condolences may be sent to www.harriganparksidefuneralhome.com  Beyond his many talents, Danny will be remembered far more for his endless love and compassion, wicked sense of humor, quick smile, and the twinkle in his eyes. He touched so many people with hugs, smiles, laughs, and love. He was always there for his friends and constantly aware of those less fortunate or in need.  We love you Danny.  The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Crematory North 11th and St. Clair streets, Manitowoc is assisting with arrangements.
