Daniel, also known to many as Buster, was a man who loved his family and was loved by many.
Daniel was born and raised in Alexandria, VA to the late James L. Ashton and Ida Belle (Hart) Ashton. Daniel graduated from T.C. Williams High School in 1975. After graduation, he attended college.
Daniel worked in a variety of places including a film lab, 3M DynaColor Corp., Cora Kelly Recreation Center, and custodial work in Northern, Virginia. Daniel was known by many throughout Alexandria. He was a talented artist and an all-around sportsman, known for his love of sports.
In 2011, Daniel had a brain aneurysm that caused him to be cared for by family and the nursing home staff. During this time, Daniel managed to keep a good spirit regarding his health and always looked forward to spending time with his family. On April 18, 2021, he succumbed to his illness and passed away under the care of hospice and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents James L. & Ida Belle (Hart) Ashton, Step-mother, Nancy Ashton, and two brothers Robert Ashton and Lawrence Ashton.
He leaves to cherish his memory many family members including: devoted Lorna Ashton, two children: Sean Stubblefield, Danielle Moore (Jarrin), three grandchildren, including Julian Moore, three brothers Rev. James Ashton (Rev. Dr. Doris Ashton, deceased), Michael Ashton, and twin brother David Ashton, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
He also leaves to cherish his memory, His beloved Wanda Beal, who loved and cared for him for many years. In addition, Michelle Beal Hackley (Rayvon), Dachelle Beal, Rayvon Hackley III (Rayjoe), Josiah Hackley (Jojo), Jynan Reid (Samuel), Jahlil Puryear Reid, and Jahan Puryear Reid.
