On May 24th, 2023, the world lost one of its greatest heroes. Daniel Taylor, born on November 11th, 1987 in Charleston West Virgina. He left this world too soon at the age of 35. He was born to Gregory Taylor and Tammy Harrah and brother to Tiffany Taylor. Daniel was married to his beloved partner Ashley Simmons-Taylor. They were blessed with a beautiful daughter, Charlette Jamie Taylor.
Daniel’s commitment to serving his country was extraordinary, and his remarkable accomplishments did not go unnoticed.
In 2010 he joined the USMC as a combat engineer. During his career he went to MARSOC assessment and selection. He was promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant and after 10 years of service received a Purple Heart. Daniel will forever be remembered for his selflessness, bravery, and unwavering commitment to his country.
He started his professional career in the service and continued his unwavering dedication to his fellow men and women in uniform even after he left the service. His employment was a wandering experience until he found VirTra, where he felt his true calling to continue his mission of serving the country.
At VirTra, Dan found his true passion and was a natural fit as he loved his team and civilian mission. He was always "On" passionate about Family, Company, and Country. Dan was a humble human being and a true American hero who will be missed deeply by his VirTra family.
Daniel's family, friends, and colleagues will never forget his infectious laugh, warm personality, and unwavering spirit. His legacy will live on through the countless lives he touched with his service and his dedication to making the world a better place.
We bid farewell to our dear Daniel, who will forever be remembered as a true hero.
Rest in peace, Daniel Taylor.
