Danny Morgan Sutcliffe Danny Morgan Sutcliffe, 67, husband of Deborah Cherry Sutcliffe, of Beaufort, SC passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at Beaufort Memorial Hospital. The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 21, 2016 from 5 to 7 pm at Anderson Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 11 am at Port Royal Baptist Church with burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Danny was born on December 20, 1948 in Orangeburg, SC to the late Lowman Alex Sutcliffe and Katherine "Kat" Fogle Sutcliffe. After graduating from Beaufort High School in 1968, he answered his nation's call and was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served as a Civil Engineer. Learning the trades and skills that would serve him his entire life as a master "do-it-yourselfer", he later went into business with his father and brothers. The Sutcliffe family went on to own and operate most notably a hardware store, Yamaha dealership, golf cart company and swimming pool business. His entrepreneurial spirit gave him a wonderful business sense and he was a skilled negotiator. But above all, he was fair and displayed an unmatched level of care and responsibility for his employees, his tenants and his customers. He could build anything, fix anything and always found a way to make life work out. Danny married his wife Deborah in September 1988 and raised two beautiful children, first a girl and later, a boy. His family was the center of his life and he was happiest at home where he loved to garden, cook, work a never -ending list of projects and be surrounded by the family's numerous animals. He poured himself into the lives of his children, whom he considered his greatest blessing as he watched them grow into young adults. An avid sportsman, Danny enjoyed deer hunting, fishing and could throw a perfect cast net sure to fill a cooler with Beaufort shrimp. He loved the crack of the rifle, swinging a golf club, a cold beer and taking money from his close friends at the poker table. Danny lived a rich life and will be remembered for his unwavering devotion to his family and friends and his ability to put others at ease. Affectionate, loyal, dependable and always a straight shooter, he will be missed for his tremendous laugh, his epic Sunday breakfasts and his gigantic heart. Surviving in addition to his wife Deborah is his lovely daughter Morgan, 25; his thoughtful son Mason, 19; and brothers Larry Sutcliffe and Jerry Sutcliffe, all of Beaufort. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations be made to the Beaufort County Animal Shelter or ASPCA.
