Daphne Louise Deuplisea (Soutendijk), 71, of Merrimac, Massachusetts, passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023 in the comfort of her home. 


Daphne was born on November 9th, 1951 to Louis Rutger Willem Soutendijk and Hermina Catherina Schoonman in Maryland. Daphne was the wife of Arthur Howard Deuplisea.


Daphne grew up in Larchmont, New York. She graduated from House in the Pines School in 1969, and she went on to study at Centenary College for Women, and Brockport University. Daphne later began a long career as a medical secretary at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, Massachusetts.


In her spare time, Daphne enjoyed visiting her grandchildren, working in her beautiful gardens, planning and taking vacations, and spending long mornings at the beach. Daphne was known for her love of life and generous demeanor. 


Daphne is survived by her spouse of 43 years, her son Adam Deuplisea, her daughter Renee Gruen, her son-in-law Mark Gruen, her two grandchildren Joel and Mary, her siblings Dirk Soutendijk, Bart Soutendijk, Huibert Soutendijk, and Mickey Soutendijk, as well as many nieces and nephews.


There will be a small service for immediate family members only.
