Daria Jennifer Conklin, 74, passed away on April19, 2022. She was born to Donald J. Salady
Sr. and Louise M. Salady in Trenton, New Jersey on July 08, 1947.
She married James Andrew Conklin in the Summer of ‘69 and they lived together creating a beautiful life and raised their family in Plaistow, New Hampshire where they lived for over 30 years. In 2014, they moved out west to Palm Desert, CA to escape the cold weather in NH and to enjoy
the sun, the desert landscape and California cuisine.
Daria graduated from Trenton Central High School in 1965 and received a degree from Trenton State in1969. She earned her Masters Degree at Georgia Southern in 1972.
Daria worked at Timberlane Regional School District until she retired in 2007. Daria was
passionate about working with special needs children and dedicated her life to making
a positive impact in their lives. She was so patient and gifted it was inspiring watching her and seeing what genuine care she had for these children.
Since Jims passing in 2018 she volunteered at Wreaths Across America with her daughter Kara at Riverside National and this became an annual tradition that she looked forward to every year. It is fitting that she will be laid to rest here.
She had many passions but anyone that knew her knew about her love for animals especially dogs. She loved her family and friends, bright colors especially shocking pink, eating dessert first,
hummingbirds, gnomes, playing piano, always said glitter is my life, loved catching up with friends and family on facebook, she had a strong faith and believed in god, she loved Christmas and her annual Christmas eve party celebrating the day she and Jim got engaged was always one for the record books. Her laugh and smile always lit up a room.
Daria is survived by her Daughter Kara Conklin and her husband Virgil Merritt who was like a son to her of Palm Desert, Ca. As well as her brother Damian Salady of Phoenixville, Pa. She will be greatly missed by all.
Services will be held at Riverside National Cemetery on Monday June 6th at 11am as she will be laid to rest with her sweetheart Jim. Reception to follow at The Mission Inn in Riverside.
In lieu of flowers, please make a Donation to one of her favorite charities in her
name. Wreaths Across America (visit wreathsacrossamerica.org) or Best Friends Animal Society (visit bestfriends.org). Please RSVP to Kara if you plan to attend her services by May 28th.
