Darian Scott Talley, 31, was called by God to his eternal rest surrounded by his family on January 31, 2024, in Ruther Glen, VA.
Darian was born to Antonio Garcia Talley and Lisa Kaye Carter on February 5, 1992, at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA.
Darian enjoyed sports, fishing, music and making others laugh.
At an early age, Darian proved he had natural athleticism. His tee ball coach described him as, “the closest thing to Deion Sanders that he had ever seen.” From that point on Darian showcased his talent by playing football, baseball and basketball throughout his elementary, middle and high school years. Darian’s name continues to be spoken of within the Spotsylvania community as a great athlete who played sports for the Chancellor Chargers at Chancellor High School.
Family and friends remember Darian as the person who lit up every room with his contagious smile, vibrant laughter and infectious personality. If you were a friend of Darian’s, you were a friend for life. Every family that Darian was blessed to meet accepted him into their homes as one of their own. His closest friends called him “brother”, as he called them his “brothers” as well. He was just that lovable! Regardless of how you relate yourself to Darian, whether it is calling him your son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, grandson or friend, we all agree that the world has lost a beautiful soul!
Darian's wishes are not to cry over him but celebrate his life and memories we shared together.
In closing, I leave these two statements that were often spoken by our beloved Darian to everyone he encountered: “Be safe. I love you.”
Darian was preceded in death by three brothers, Fredrick David Thomas, Jr., Diamante Lamar Kelly, and DeAndre Miller; one sister, Hailey Nicole Talley; and two grandfathers, Roger Lee Carter and Alonza “Bill” Talley, Sr.
Darian is survived by his mother, Lisa Kaye Carter Thomas; his father, Antonio Garcia Talley; stepfather, Fredrick David Thomas, Sr. and stepmother, Cristie Carbee Talley; siblings, Devon Talley, Mannisa Thomas, Chanera Thomas, Iverson Thomas, Marcus Bundy, Nathaniel Bundy and Kayla Carbee; two grandmothers, Cleita Annette Carter and Hilda Mae Talley; along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
Special recognition for those Darian referred to as his “brothers” goes out to David Lopez, Diamonte Kelly, DeVonte Miller, DeAndre Miller, Tony Russell, Drew Foley, John Helem, Rashard Kelly and their parents for loving and accepting him as a part of their families. The phrase “it takes a village” applied to Darian Scott Talley. It took a village just to find out where he was at times. #roadrunner
