Darla Jeanne Cooley FergusonBIg SpringDarla Jeanne Cooley Ferguson passed away on July 29, 2017, at her home. Funeral service is at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at First United Methodist Church in Big Spring with Rev. Darrell Patterson and Rev. Gary Karschner officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3, 2017, at Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home located at 900 Gregg St. Big Spring, Texas. She will be laid to rest in Trinity Memorial Cemetery.Darla was born on March 25, 1947 to Charles and Lou Cooley in Borger, Texas. Darla graduated from Borger High School in 1965. She married her best friend's brother, Thomas Ferguson, on Dec. 10, 1966. She was a lifelong member of the Methodist church and a proud member of the Red Hat Society.Darla loved her family and loved to travel with them. The family took regular vacations together and spent every other Christmas in Angel Fire, New Mexico. She took great pride in her grandchildren and enjoyed showing off the crafts and projects they would create together.Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Tom Ferguson; daughter Tanya Rodriguez and husband Jesse of Miles, Texas; sons Craig Ferguson and wife Stephanie of Coahoma, Texas and Brett Ferguson and wife Kerry of Kerrville, Texas; 12 grandchildren, Jay, Ryan, Jarred and Brandon Rodriguez, Kenneth and Lindsey Ferguson, Allison, Ashley, Aaron, Shayla and Taylor Ferguson. Kelsie Johnson and Jaydin Gutierrez; two great-grandchildren, Lane and Aubrey Johnson; two sisters, Janie Covington and husband Tom of Irving, Texas and Lou Anne Cooper of Huffman, Texas; her brother, John Charles Cooley and wife Glenda of Bedford, Texas; loving in-laws Jerry and Carolyn Pittelko of Rochester Minnesota, Steve and Delois Wollenberg of Urbana Missouri and Steve and Pam Ferguson of Borger, Texas; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.She was preceded in death by one daughter, Doris Lou Ferguson; her parents, Charles and Lou Cooley; her mother and father-in-law, Willie and Doris Ferguson; and her brother-in-law, Ronnie Cooper.The family suggests memorials go to the and the .Arrangements are under the direction of Nalley-Pickle and Welch Funeral Home and Crematory.
