Darle I. GriffithDarle I. Griffith, 86, passed away on the morning of May 15, 2017, at her home in West Lafayette. She was born on February 3, 1931 in Aurora, IL to Dorothy and Norman Hansen. She graduated from Aurora High School in 1949 and from Pepperdine College in California in 1953 with a bachelor's degree in English. In August of 1967 she married Donald R. Griffith and he survives. Darle was an editor in the Agricultural Information Department at Purdue for 13 years and was a book editor for the University Press for two years. She was an avid collector of dolls and teddy bears and owned a retail gift business in West Lafayette for 10 years, "Darle's Dolls and Bears", until she retired in 1993. She was a talented dancer and did choreography for two musical plays at Harrison High School and one at West Lafayette High School. She also had a dance studio in Lafayette for a year. She was an avid quilter for the last 25 years of her life and had one Grand Champion quilt at the Tippecanoe County fair. Darle is survived by her husband, Donald, two daughters, Laurie Rainford (husband Larry) of Lafayette, and Susan Swinford of Brookston, one grandson, Kristopher Brown (wife Kathy) of Arizona, and one great grandson, Christian Sanders, of Lafayette. She is preceded in death by Angela Brown, a granddaughter who passed at the age of 32.A celebration of life will be held on Monday, May 22, 2017. Visitation from 4:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. when the service begins, all at Soller-Baker Funeral Homes, West Lafayette Chapel, 1184 Sagamore Parkway W., West Lafayette Indiana 47906. The Rev.
