Dykstra, DarleneDarlene D. Dykstra, age 84 of Dalton, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Markesan Resident Home.The daughter of Harold and Edith (Poehls) Walker, Darlene was born on February 17, 1933 on the family farm in Kingston. She graduated from Markesan High School in 1950. On March 28, 1953, she was united in marriage to Richard Dykstra at the Markesan United Methodist Church. Darlene attended Moraine Park Technical College in Fond du Lac, taking courses in floral arranging, cake decorating and upholstery. She worked at Giddings & Lewis in Fond du Lac for many years, where she made mechanical parts for NASA. Later, she worked at Converter Concepts in Pardeeville for ten years. Darlene was a member of Kingston United Methodist Church, and after retirement she also volunteered for Meals on Wheels and the Manchester Senior Center. She loved flowers and playing cards, as well as knitting and crocheting, including nearly 100 blankets she made for her grandchildren and others. Darlene is survived by her husband, Richard of Dalton; children, Rick A. Dykstra of Dalton, Sheri (Lee) Chaon of Oshkosh and Randy (Pam) Dykstra of Dalton; grandchildren, Travis King, Betina Chaon (Emily Romaine), Heather Meyers, Kayla (Aaron) Olds, Ashley Wright, Kody Dykstra, Lesha Chaon, Kasey (Jamie) Dykstra; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Duwane (Irene) Walker, Kenneth (Doris) Walker, Gordy (Gayle) Walker; sister-in-law, Carol Walker; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sharlene; granddaughter, Kristina Griffin; brothers, Lyle and Allen (in infancy). Visitation for Darlene will be held on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Kingston United Methodist Church, 206 E. Pearl St., Kingston from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:30 a.m. Rev.
