Daryl "Darry" WalkerMuncie - Daryl "Darry" Walker passed away peacefully Sunday, May 28, 2017, with family by his side after a brief battle with brain cancer. He was born on August 14, 1945, in Winchester, the son of Daryl Lewis Walker and Edith Eileen (Fisk) Walker and graduated from Lee L. Driver High School in 1963. Daryl served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. Over the years he worked at Chevy and retired from Borg Warner. Most recently he owned his own business, Walker's Lawn Care. Darry loved his family and special friends beyond measure. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, fishing, The Cincinnati Reds, NASCAR and most of all spending time on his boat at Prairie Creek Reservoir. He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Julie (Manning) Walker; six children, Kris Walker Goens (Todd), Kari Hammond, T.J. Walker (Jessica), Kelli Walker, Kasi Walker (Tay) and Zachary Walker; twenty-two grandchildren, Kai, Nich, Livi, Ryleigh, Logan, Wyatt, Nolan, Scarlett, Jordan, David, Dalton, Juliana, Kodey, Konner, Devin, C.J., Tayana, Marcus, Hailey, Triston, Alissia and Johnetta; and one sister, Sally Sue Thornburg. A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, June 4, 2017, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at The Southside Church of the Nazarene, 3500 W. Fuson Road, Muncie.
